HOW TO ADOPT CHILD LEGALLY IN PAKISTAN?

STEP 1: KNOW HEALTH OF CHILD YOU WANT TO ADOPT

STEP 2: CHILD ADOPTION DEED

Child Adoption Deed is a pivotal requirement while following the procedure for child adoption in Pakistan. Child Adoption Deed to be signed between Foster parents and Real Parents must show express offer and acceptance between parties in relation to adoption of minor child:

• Child Adoption Deed must fulfill the details of minor child and must include his full name, age and detail of his real parents.
• Child Adoption Deed must contain reasons of adoption.
• Deed must clearly protect and safe guard the interest of foster parents to retain custody of minor child without exception.

STEP 3: ISSUANCE OF  GUARDIANSHIP CERTIFICATE

In Pakistan, any person having custody of minor must apply for Guardian Certificate from the Guardian Court. In this regard, Petition for issuance of Guardian Certificate is filed in the Guardian Court by foster parents. Court notices the real Parents. After recording statement of parties, Court issues Guardian certificate in favor of Foster Parents.

STEP 4: PROCEDURE WHERE YOU WANT TO TAKE MINOR ABROAD

If foster parents plan to take minor child outside Pakistan, after the Guardian Certificate is issued, formal application is required to be filed with Guardian Court to allow permission to Forster Parents to allow permission to take the minor abroad. Court again notices the parents, if no object is made, court allows foster parents permission to take minor abroad.
